Alot of people think it is a waste of time trying to detect herbs/spices, flavours etc off the modern O.R because it has become flavourless according to them, I disagree.
Here in Australia, i really think we have some of the best O.R chicken in the world. If celery/mustard is in the recipe, it can be used here without having to be declared as allergen because it doesn't have to be declared as an allergen in Australia (Afaik) Judging off my own personal taste, i have detected celery/mustard in the recipe here, also cinnamon, cardamom, caraway seed.
I only buy the drumsticks because they are double coated and have the most flavour. It isn't consistent tho, many times i am getting more or less of certain flavours, but this inconsistency actually helps me because it helps reveal a certain herb/spice.
Main flavours i have detected;
100% White pepper flavour, but it is different to the flavour i get from white pepper in my own recipes, it is almost like a white pepper perfume, or breath of white pepper.
100% Cinnamon
100% An aroma that morphs into an "apple pie smell" i am thinking it is coming off the cinnamon and something else.
100% Chicken bouillon
Caraway seed maybe
100% cardamom seed
100% mustard zing flavour
100% celery seed
100% Thyme herb.
100% lemon flavour
100% Red pepper
100% artificial vanilla flavour that i think is added into the flour, not the spice mix.
All of those above ^ are just based on my own taste perception, i have no proof if they actually are in the recipe. But the one spice i do have physical proof being in the recipe is NIGELLA SEED! because i physically can see the specs on the chicken and also tasted and confirmed them to be 100% Nigella seed.
So anybody who thinks that trying to detect herbs/spices off the modern o.r is a waste of time is wrong.
