Per Wikipedia (often not a very highly reliable source) a basic Garlic Salt consists of 1 part by weight Garlic Powder and 6 parts by weight fine Salt.
1/7 x 100 = 14.286% Garlic Powder by weight 6/7 x 100 = 85.714% Salt by weight
15% by weight fine Garlic Powder and 85% by weight fine Salt should work perfectly well.
This would suffice to mimic the typical budget line Garlic Salt found on store shelves. Some gourmet organic brands I've seen (and use) are about 40% Garlic Powder and 60% Salt by weight.

My research shows 3 parts salt to one part garlic powder. This is a consensus observation.

My research shows 3 parts salt to one part garlic powder. This is a consensus observation. Per Wikipedia, 3 parts by volume Salt and 1 Part by volume Garlic Powder is quite effectively one and the same as 1 part by weight Garlic Powder and 6 parts by weight Salt.
We are on the exact same page.

My research shows 3 parts salt to one part garlic powder. This is a consensus observation. As to consensus, Ken is clearly big on fully accepting the findings of Wikipedia on this matter, as he routinely references Wikipedia. He (as well as you) would be far better served as to honesty by simply observing the mg. Sodium per unit of weight information that is in print on every bottle of Garlic Salt. I've research this matter via this very scientific and detailed method and I've come to the conclusion that there factually is no consensus from one Garlic Salt brand to another.
Bottom line: Wikipedia does not establish consensus.
My findings via looking at Sodium and extending it to Salt indicate that cheap Garlic Powder has even less Garlic on average than what Wikipedia suggests to be some sort of (likely un-researched) nominal.

I don't believe that CHS sought out advice from Wikipedia, nor do I think he calculated the garlic salt he used (if he did) by grams, rather than spoonfuls.
