What Needs to be established is Color and Fleck content of spec of Black, Green ETC.
since the 1980's the New Age K.F.C. Spice has changed to a Greyish, Green over tone of color
Prior to 1980's it was still more the Red and still Has Rubbed style Green Particles, and Red Over Tone in the Seasoning Bags.
The New Age is using more Extracts them real spices and washed paprika
All I can suggest it the comments from Long ago where Many viewing showed the Red Over tone in the Seasoning Bags and the Staining it caused on Trays or paper it was poured Onto, Gloria p On Two separate Donahue T.V. shows and others Referenced the Red Rose Original Color of the Chicken which she indicates had Changed by the second T.V. Airing
K.F.C. had bulletins regarding the Paprika Dis coloring and causing More Oil changes and C.H.S. Told Many Franchises they were NOT changing the Oil enough and letting it get to dark causing a less then acceptable taste and Visual Product in the Buckets.
Timing ALL similar to when the Golden Brown Fried Chicken slogan appeared was changes in the Warsh Paprika or Extracts
