Star-Anise vs. Anise Seed as to licorice content

Based upon my recent experience in using Star-Anise in a 'split' recipe, and in getting as a result a Star-Anise sensory overload, I now believe that on a weight equivalence basis the licorice delivery of Star-Anise must be on the order of roughly 4 to perhaps as high as 5 times higher than for Anise Seed.  And thus if one is adding 0.50 grams of Anise Seed, the 'nominal' equivalent as Star-Anise would be about 0.100 to 0.125 grams.
