Long Pepper or Piper Longum was amongst the items I had ordered and received today. "The taste can be described as hot, sharp, and slightly sweet, with a spicy and earthy aroma. It is similar to black pepper, but has a slightly more complex flavor profile, with hints of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg." My first personal impression: Smells very strong, sweetish, like chocolate and cinnamon. Unreal, like some scented candle from IKEA. I am not sure how to use this stuff, but surely not 1:1 for Black Pepper.

Already tried and tested by me. I thought it's aroma alone smelt like the O.R. Ruined every recipe i tried it in. Even in very small amounts. Adds a sickeningly sweet aroma and bad taste to the chicken.
