Original seasoning definitely has sweetness to it. I performed an experiment with and without sugar and it made a huge difference. I talked with a guy who has been researching for 15 years and he found that dextrose was included in the recipe. Although the nutritional panel says 0 gram sugar, it's definitely a trick.

I respect you spoke to someone who says it's in the recipe
i would suggest speaking to the FDA ASK them what risk KFC NEW AGE would face if they failed to disclose the Sugar in the equations of ANY Meal item
Because of Health reason THEY COULD shut Down ALL KFC in the USA
Health Risk especially to diabetics YOU DO NOT SCREW WITH in release of Information. KFC WOULD NEVER NEVER NEVER chance that Risk maneuver
it would be a legal suicided to the corporation.
would they USE A Nature Item Like a Corn Syrup or other item or low sugar item Possible yes
as a SPICE Mixer who mixes Spices and Herbs and sells our House Rubs and Spices I WOULD NEVER NOT disclose sugar or any allergen EVER someone's Live might depend on that information

Some flours are naturally a wee bit sweeter than others. That said, I'm all for adding 1 to 2 grams of Dextrose powder to any recipe built upon 200 grams of Flour.

also a NOTE *
KFC NEW AGE has listed Corn Syrup which was Corn Syrup Powder
Does that give a Sweet possibility also in NEW AGE I would say Yes. was it a Extra in 1930's NO
BUT Do a history review of Milled Stone Flour from the 1930's and Many reports show that 1920's and 1930's Flour were Tri-Blend
WHY a Tri-Blend The most common Grains stone milled were Wheat, Corn, Barely. and with the shortage of Grains they mixed More then 2 items continually as a flour its all they could do in the 1930's. The Stone Mill Grinding you could NOT clean like Metal and ceramic NEW AGE milling process.
Back in the 1930's The protein in Flour was most likely BUGS (REAL LIFE FACT)
C.H.S. originally said He used Winter Wheat
NOW everyone deals with a Enriched Flour in Countries READ the Label's on Flour.
Many people have said its hard to find certain Grains Flour which can be true.
You can blender some Corn Flakes BUT it will be a expensive item to use as cereal prices are sky rocketing.
Bulk Barns and Bulk Supply Stores or Amish will carry all Grain Flour ?

I've read where statistically about 17% of the protein in wheat flour comes from the bugs that get ground up in it.

17% of the protein via bugs computes to about 98% Flour and 2% ground up bugs by weight. That seems likely to be a bit on the high side.
