Watch the Canadian video that comes up in the bottom right at the end of your video. Right near the end the Manager/Instructor tells the trainees that the flavor is all in the breading because it is not marinated chicken. The only things it sees are a water wash and the breading. No brine, no marinade, no potato or cornstarch dusting, and no egg wash.

That first video is pretty sus. But the Canadian video very informative. However I heard him say “not marinated”. A brine is not a marinade.

If it is brined it is likely to be an injection brine performed by the meat processor and not by KFC. There are enough videos and employee testimonies out there to confirm that KFC is doing no such thing. And that the OR chicken only sees water and the seasoned flour mixture.
A number of years ago this was not the case, as KFC went through a period of performing tumble marinating.

Agreed 100%. I can buy all natural broilers or processed broilers that have been treated with salt, sodium phosphate, and garlic. The treated ones (also cheaper) are what you get if you buy a rotisserie bird from most grocery stores/supermarkets. We use natural broilers and season 24hrs before with dry rub.
