I have explained to many people that unless a uniform style of math is used and Same Formula of Approximately making a Recipe is used Comparing Past and present recipe to how flavorful they are is UN-OBTAINABLE in Principle and Fact.
the same approximate spice ratio needs to be standardized to compare old versions and New versions.
Prime Example NOTE on NOT ONLY Glen and Friends and the OTHER YouTube KFC Video testing many recipes THEY commented Some recipes had WAY more spice and salt then OTHERS WOW Einstein's DO YOU NOT THINK THEY WILL HAVE MORE FLAVOR compared to a recipe with 1/2 or ONLY 3/4 the Spice and Salt M.S.G Combinations ?
When I SEE recipes that ONE DAY show a 6% Seasoning and 12% Salt and the NEXT day it Jumps to 8% and 20% you know B recipe is Going to BE more Flavoring
Yes the amount of spices can Change in a MIX from experiment to experiment BUT then the same AMOUNT of GRAMS of spice MUST be mixed to the Same weight of Flour for accurate test day to day.
Example is 99x 25 Different People reviewed 99x and they ALL SAY mixing it at a RATIO that Marion Kay suggest on the TIN is a WEAK FLAVOR. 25 People cannot BE ALL wrong. Its WEAK when Mixed at the Direction MIX.
Food Theorists, tested KFC or Colonel Sanders on the channel RECIPE #1 | RECIPE #2 | Chicago Tribune | TAHITIAN VANILLA | CITRIC ACID THEY SAID the recipe amounts were NOT the same and commented that 99x is weak and said it NEEDED more seasoning then DID NOT re-Test it with MORE WTH.

I agree completely. I compartmentalize all that I do. A particular formula never changes, unless I am working on the formula. If looking for ingredients, there must be standardization. This is why I'm puzzled by those posting multiple variations in a set of recipes with different weights and proportions. It drove me crazy when I did it. That's why I'll post one or two "formulaic" recipes for others to experiment with. My formulas, if paying attention, have been 20/10/13/57; 20/20/20/20/20; 25/25/25/25; etc. I have used a wild hand from time to time to make a point, or to spark debate.
The last "Ledington" mix I posted is a complete recipe. I have used the same formula for years. I have a hundred compilations breaking the Ts into grams. This last recipe posted was done in spoon measurements. I have gizzards I'm going to try with the 2nd "multiples" recipe, then I'm going to fry chicken wingettes with the "Ledington" mix, which tastes pretty dog gone good. I can't keep my fingers out of the jar for tasting it. More salt may be needed, but later.

I feel when it was all done in volume measures. It would had some consistency to it in the sense of full, half and quarter teaspoons etc. No scientific fractional type measurements

I feel when it was all done in volume measures. It would had some consistency to it in the sense of full, half and quarter teaspoons etc. No scientific fractional type measurements It may get written down that way, but in practice there is a lot of rounding going on with teaspoons and tablespoons in the kitchen. No time to bother with careful leveling. Volume measure is a terrible means of measurement.
And I might add that those raised in the Metric world likely have no idea that in the non-metric world there is no correlation between fluid ounces and weight ounces. I'm certain that this one has tripped up many throughout the history of recipes.

The main principle is using the same overall volume of Spice compared to Flour vs Salt.
EXAMPLE ONLY EXAMPLE ONLY BELOW numbers are ONLY Numbers
2 - 2.5 Cups of flour 55g Salt Example Grams 10g MSG Example Grams 40g Spices and Herbs Example Grams
The Grams represented are ONLY a EXAMPLE TO USE
