Do you think anybody has cracked the recipe but keeping quiet about it? i don't and here's why.. if anybody truly cracked the recipe we would see some kind of version of it already for sale in stores, or posted online for free. Do i think many people BELIEVE they cracked it, but are not even close? yes many i believe have retired with that attitude, they deep down know they have not cracked it but their ego tells them they have. TC34D is the best example of this.
As close as my recipes have got, and i have gotten extremely close, i will always admit to myself if it is not right. And this type of attitude has gotten me further, and further in progress. My recipe right now i believe is the closest anyone has gotten, but something is still off about it and i think i may have discovered the real deal 11 ingredient which will finalize my recipe. I will see tomorrow if it works or not as it is currently melding. 100% when you crack it you will just know.

You seem to potentially be merely projecting.
Since the recipe has undoubtedly evolved and changed over time it is clearly a moving target. If by accident someone 100% cloned the purported 'original' 1939 recipe, how would anyone ever know, including the person who accomplished this, and potentially even KFC themselves (particularly if CHS took his 1939 recipe with him to the grave and never passed it on to KFC to begin with)?
By what quantifiablly objective and valid measure do you boast about everyone not being close. You would need to "properly" cook many thousands of recipes developed by others whereby to feel justified in even remotely making such a meritless claim. How many of such recipes can you claim to have actually cooked?

A mere recipe? a mere recipe that turned Colonel Sanders into a multi millionaire and is the very reason you are on this site right now. And i am simply thinking logically not projecting at all. The only reason for anybody to keep it a secret if they actually did crack it, is because they believe they will make money off it. So fact it isn't available in a store means they did not crack it. The next best thing if you couldn't make money off it, is being known as the first person in the world to crack it. You gain nothing by keeping it a secret to yourself. And if you actually did crack it, people would not be going "hmm i think this might be it" "its close" they'd all be saying "This is really it! omg this tastes exactly like the O.R" that is how unique and special the recipe is. Also, i never ever had intentions of ever making money off it when i first started this journey. I was simply doing it as a hobby and out of my own curiosity because i like solving a mystery. I still am only motivated by same factors but 5 years later, i now see the recipe is far more COMPLEX than i originally thought and would be FOOLISH to give away for free. And you are wrong by thinking the recipe has changed, it has not changed, only the flavour has become much weaker. |

For your Information Some of US have been at this Over 45 Years
Personally I have cooked 100,000Lbs in Protein Chicken, Beef, Pork and Been around the K.F.C. Clone recreation for the Original with others. I have Travelled more miles and drive tru windows then Many. Cooked with the Best and Worse ever seen.
I have Spoke Personally with the People who were around C.H.S. and Claudia, Bill S and Marion Kay, Pat from England Fried Chicken when it was Pat's Fried Chicken and The K.F.C. Met Leon Pete Harmon, Dave Thomas, Winston S, and the List has Gone ON and On.
Don't even want to Guess How many recipes I have Tries and test of our own and Others like Silvers, Eula, Claudia's L, Marion K Different versions Before and after the change (still Have Original Bags FROM the First that were shipped to Canada Personally By Bill S. Original Marion kay Chicken Seasoning BEFORE it was CALLED 99x)
Guess What ALL of the ABOVE HAVE NEVER GAVE OUT THE RECIPE except C.H.S. who Gave it to the Original Charity Members In Canada, Pat in England, Plus few Others, THESE people have had Tighter Lips then anyone.
There Have Been Close Versions of the New Age K.F.C. Marion Kay Chicken Seasoning was the Original or as Close to it as possible Prior to the Change.
The ONLY way that one will Know if they have the Original is a Show Down with K.F.C. New Age. like Tommy and Cherry S Did on the Good Morning America, and Todd Wilbur and Challenge K.F.C.. New Age in a Court House.
AS FOR the Original being Out there YES IT IS K.F.C. would have Never spent 5 million Dollars to see How many people Have it? K.F.C IS NOT CURRENTLY answering the Question of making the statement ANY MORE regarding NO ONE has Got the recipe correct ? ALL those statements were last Made with Tommy and Joe ?

I've spoken to several people on the phone, but they just wanted to pump my mind. In my opinion, if someone had the recipe, they wouldn't be on this, or any other forum. Heck, last night I had a half-asleep dream of how to make Ledington's work. It is in tsps, and salt is code for 2/3 tsp of salt, sage, allspice, licorice and tarragon. Add 4 tsp of salt, and 1 tsp msg, maybe more.
