We have all said this or heard it 100's of times
Grandmother Food was the Best. Grandmother recipes are Better then anyone else. Grandmother MAKES THE BEST FOOD.
GRANDMOTHER ALL CHEATED they used 20% Love and 13% Old Fashion ways from the Heart. 10% From the Garden NOT a Box or a Can. they stirred it Clockwise NOT counter clockwise NEVER shaken, and they Did NOT have electric can openers Had to get Grandpa to open a Stuck Jar of Homemade Canning.
They cheated we DO NOT HAVE THOSE items NOW.
OH and they did not do it for minimum wage and they received NO Tip's ?

No measuring. Everything tossed together and adjusted by taste. ...on the fly ....adjust as required... As a youngster I watched my nan (grandmother) from a perch next to the stove cook many a meal. I was fascinated with the whole process. I realize now there is a science to this exercise; especially the timing for everything to be ready at the same time. That was near 60 yrs ago. The only fast food in those days was Kentucky Fried Chicken and Swanson Frozen Dinners. Those dinners then were bone-in and were real good. I miss them too! I digress, cfc |

Also how they just knew how to make it work. Stretch the meals when necessary. My grandmother never understood the cost of chicken wings. My grandfather was a butcher and brought home things like wings as they were of no real value. She made them into soups and stews. Now you pay $14 a pound in a pub to have them breaded and deep fried.

I must be a grandmother. LOL. My grandkids call me the "cat lady" because I feed the feral cats in the neighborhood.
