When It All Began ?
This Thread is dedicated to When it All Began the Beginning The Original Colonel Sanders Recipe 1939
I have this though which I have said many many Posting the First 11 Spices and Herbs were in 1939 K.F.C. New Age has it Posted in 6789 Franchise Owned Stores on the Doors Windows walls and Toilets ? 1939 Secret 11 Herbs and Spices.
So we can All agree or disagree that 1939 was a important Year in the Chicken Frying evolution, and C.H.S.
C.H.S. said in more then 100's of interviews "I started with Flour, Salt, and Pepper, then Added Spices, and Herbs until I got to around 10 other interviews he said 11 Herbs and Spices"
I have continually Posted FROM MY FIRST POSTING ON ANY FORUM. M.S.G was the items added in the Cumberland Boat Story told 1000 times by C.H.S. "I added two Handfuls of this element to the Seasoned Flour I had Mixed" Remember K.F.C. New Age also says 1939 was the Original 11 Herbs and Spices Date. Cumberland Falls Lake was NOT built until the 1950's
Also Remember in the 1940's Time Period C.H.S. was NOT cooking in His Own Restaurants Full Time. He was Running State Run Cafeteria's and other Locations approximately a 5 to 6 Year Time Period. I have a List of All the Locations he cooked at During that time period BUT exact year time period is 5 or 6ish years.
So C.H.S. AFTER 1939 had his Hands available to many more Commercial Items and Larger Quantity Buy items Compared to 1939 BUT the Supply items were ALL the same it was the Larger Tins size and Companies who he Got things from.
So Now Back to 1930 to 1939 Time Period C.H.S cooked meals But he said the Chicken was not until approximately 1937 added to the Menu. which was Flour, Salt and Pepper.
ALL the Sanders said then C.H.S. started adding HERBS that they Liked and Had to the Original Flour, Salt, Pepper.
SO Remember this Flour, Salt, M.S.G. NOT part of the ORIGINAL 11 Herbs and Spices
Many Have said Paprika was first (even I have posted that Many said this Ingredient BUT I have said it was NOT a Herb as C.H.S. spoke about continually on the road and Interviews).
I Know I'm the ONLY one who PRINTS ALL THE TIME Spices and Herbs C.H.S. Original words NOT K.F.C. Trade Marked Herbs and Spices (Brown Changed it when F.D.A. continually made reference to Alphabetical listing and it had a Better jingle catch phrase).
So Now we Go back to the Words Herbs, 1939ish
What Were the Common Herbs of 1939 (I DID NOT make the List it F.D.A. info from 1939) also listed BY the Spice Companies ?
Sweet Basil
Bay Leaf
Dill
Marjoram
Mint
Oregano (Mexican Sage)
Parsley Flakes
Sage Leaves
Savory Leaves
Thyme
Tarragon
Rosemary Leaves
Many items were Grown Seasonally in the Garden's of America at that time period. Many were used as Garnish
Most of the Herbs have More Aroma then a Some Spice NOT ALL but many.
K.F.C New Age in the Past listed Basil as a Original item (1970's and other time period)
K.F.C New Age has mentioned Pepper, Rosemary, Oregano
K.F.C. New Age has Mentioned Paprika, Ginger as Items
Sage and Savory Mentioned by Secretary as Stuffing items ? NOT Dressing items ?
so here are some items that may or may NOT track back to the Original ?
Add your input ?
