The discussions about spice weights and measures reminds me of www.aqua-calc.com/calculate/food-volume-to-weight and how helpful it might be. Set the volume you are looking for and then the 'Food category'. 'generic' or 'branded and generic' will usually be the needed categories. Then the spice name, such as 'celery seed' which will bring up the choice of generic and a couple of UPCs. Make a choice and the weights and volumes will be shown in the lower boxes. You'll find a tablespoon of one UPC celery seed weighs almost 50% more than the generic and this is not taking into account whether it was a good crop year or bad, but at least you will have accurate weights and measures.

I've tried comparing this very websites feedback to actual comparisons of my Salt, and H&S ingredients, and I find it to be fairly inaccurate vs. my weights taken from volumes. That said, this website is as good as it gets, and I thank you for mentioning it.

Some of the Websites are helpful but they can have issues.
The best suggestion is making your own charts from your own measurement's

I did this and took 5-6 samples each time to get to a value I was comfortable recording in my tables. I then compared to listed conversion tables as well as the web site indicated. I was shocked that for the ones I measured many were actually very close.

The situation in many circumstances is are the web sites doing Weighs or are they relying on Technical info sheets also.
Every situation can be different in comparison to grind, humanity, etc.
But when you do a weights at your own test ability you know you are comparing numbers to your machine and when you weight the next item you know your using the same item to compare and equal potential Value.
CHS said on sealed Tin he occasionally Took the Lib off to see volume inside the Tin.
