Was it the 'WM. J. STANGE COMPANY'?

WM. J. STANGE CO., the inverter of PEPPERALL (which I believe to be an extract of black/white pepper). It very well may be that the 11 H&S contained extracts from the onset.

Stange filed for a patent on their steam method for the making spice extracts and extratives in 1957, and it was granted in 1960.

If it was Stange, and McCormick first merged with and then bought out Stange, then it may matter little as to the current arrangement whereby McCormick makes only half of the formula, as seemingly they must know the entire formula.

The Family originally Made the Spice and Claudia was in charge of Mixing the spices and Packaging the Spices to be shipped Out.
it was NOT any of the Companies which have been guessed.
Durkee's was the First Company that was hired by CHS and Claudia to mix the spices ALL 11 Spice & Herbs.
The starting to have 2 companies to mix the Spices was a Brown and Massey marketing thing.
After CHS Son passed away and Claudia could NOT manage and keep up with the Mixing of Spices Durkee's was contracted as the sole Mixing company for the 11 Spices & Herbs.
Durkee's had secured the agreement with CHS. Durkee's had a large supply of PURE spices which other companies had to obtain from Durkee's wholesale and rebrand as Durkee's import was a Major Importer in the original Spice Trade days
Durkee's Cold Press Rolled ALL the spices for a Higher Quality Spice and Herb in the Day and had the exclusive for one of the 3 Cold Roll Press. Other companies had to contract and sub purchase the Spices and Herbs from the 2 other Cold Roll processors of the day.
Durkee's was 1 of ONLY a few companies who DID NOT receive MAJOR fines for spice and Herb Law violations.
Durkee's also Has EXCLUSIVE spices which others did not have but all tried to replicate.
Durkee's also had the largest selection of Butcher Wholesale Spices for Meats
Yes there were other companies large like the ones you mentioned above BUT they were behind in Quality of PURE spices.

McCormick also purchased Durkee, so no matter what McCormick says about only knowing half of the recipe, it seems as if they should likely know the full recipe.
