My second radical thought/question for the day:
Why should anyone place blind faith in the words or statements associated with Winston Shelton, specifically with regard to the OR?
I believe I've covered this before, but Winston was strictly advised via legal council to forget the recipe. And he said that he himself wanted to not know it. How likely then is it that he would voluntarily offer to cough up factual tidbits of it, as opposed to coughing up either misdirection or drama?
Everything from Winston must likely be taken with a grain of salt. Including the whispered word "Tellicherry". But it was so highly staged as to be amazingly melodramatic and touching in the video...

I would tend to agree with you except for 1 or 2 Point, from CHS HIMSELF
I know you take Certain seasoning from sausage certain seasoning from stuffing, AND YOU COULD TAKE COMBINATIONS of some of those seasoning and you could get another good seasoning and that’s where I developed my chicken recipe.
You used Spices that compliment each other, and enhance the chicken.
The words CHS clearly indicated combination's. Plus when you use Spices which compliment each other that again indicated Combinations.
Now if you Paired Combinations which compliment each other your Only worrying about 5 pair's, WHITE PEPPER is a STAND ALONE ITEM it Don't Play Nice with others Due to the Sharpness - BUT Can enhance Sausage with the quality, and when required in Heavy pepper Dishes adds the PEPPER ENHANCER.
Salt, Pepper
White Pepper
Ketchup, Mustard Nutmeg, Mace Sage, Savory Parsley, Thyme Oregano, Rosemary
Marinade:
Garlic, Onion Dill, Lemon
ONLY MY VIEW?
I like the comment Silver brings to the table BUT think that Pairing items and working them in individual stages can work.
as for any type of Number sequence for a Recipe. Many Butchers use the putting spice or herbs in a recipe in a smallest to largest volume or reverse Largest to Smallest volume. Just for easy, They would also make piles of each item if they got interrupted they could look and count the items in a clockwise rotation and know where they left off
1 2 3

Let's not forget that all of us make up stories. Or at the very least we tend to embellish and/or alter them. Even to the point where we can actually begin to believe the very alterations and/or embellishments we've made to be truthful representations of what may have actually originally occurred over time. We are all humans, and subject to this particular human frailty. Winston Shelton was a human.

message uploaded before I was done.
1,2,3 sequence only made it easier when there were Larger amounts of ingredient's and made forgetting less likely.

Even an ancient Biblical principle can be applied here.
“A single witness shall not suffice against a person for any crime or for any wrong in connection with any offense that he has committed. Only on the evidence of two witnesses or of three witnesses shall a charge be established."
"Every charge must be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses."
"Do not admit a charge against an elder except on the evidence of two or three witnesses."
"For there are three that testify..."
"And I will grant authority to my two witnesses..."
"But they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. At last two came forward ..."
Etc...

The Todd Wilbur CMT was obviously Dramatized for T.V. production.
The Only real thing is Back in the 1930's Larger Peppercorns were More common as they Allowed Growing times to Mature the Peppercorns and ALL hand picking took longer to Harvest the Crops, so larger Peppercorns were a Everyday Item. In the Current Era Mass Production and High efficient Growing Crops have changed the Way it's produced.
It was NO secret that Black Pepper was use BUT many people did not have a Clue what Tellicherry Peppercorns were.
Just use a Great Quality peppercorn and it helps

My radical KFC thought for the day:
Since all of the available photographs of KFC H&S bags indicate that MSG comes first, followed by B&W Pepper (seemingly combined), Salt, H&S, and Garlic Powder, does this place an upper limit upon B&W Pepper, such that the sum total of the ounces of B&W Pepper within the bag must be less than the ounces of MSG in the bag?
If the answer is yes, then this would logically put an end to the current trend of ever increasing the B&W Peppers.

My radical thought for the day (inspired by Deep Taste ) is that: After getting the salt, pepper, and MSG additions critically honed in it is likely that only a couple to (perhaps) a few additional ingredients working in true harmony are required, and the rest beyond this, summing to 11, are there merely for the ride, and as a deception, as these latter ingredients are either fully expendable or fully replaceable, and they are present at levels that are not perhaps even detectable via the senses of smell and taste.

There are as many Bags where the Location of MSG is NOT in the First location as Salt as the First location.

I believe the labeling laws must have changed, ad now a more honest picture is seen as to the order of the ingredients. Some foreign bags may not need to comply with NA laws.
