Above I mentioned finding some very tasty uncooked (or not fully cooked) breading mix tucked away in a few places under the surface of the Lee's Famous Recipe coating. I forgot to mention at that time that there were distinctly green bits within the uncooked breading. This is an indicator of Herbs. And it is proof that Lee's breading is not comprised of only Flour, Salt, Pepper, and MSG. I would expect that this would likely also apply for KFC_OR. Edit: Among many others, Thyme and Marjoram are Herbs. Same thing happened to me with a piece of KFC. Under cooked hidden breading. And that's when I could taste garlic and the clove/allspice in the recipe.

I came across an article which stated that Lee's Famous Recipe dips each piece of their chicken in honey. No way for me to verify it.
The color of Lee's is more golden and lighter than KFC, so apparently the honey dip does not induce a sort of burn't darkness like table sugar would.

I've been doing a lot of web searching today regarding Lee's vs. KFC_OR, and by far the majority of such comparisons come down on the side of Lee's being better. The opposite is however generally true for the sides.

Sage Sage Holds a Green Hue that NO other spice or Herbs has We use a Army Green Sage ~ Commercial Grade Wholesale and Butcher Supply Located NOT typically in a Grocery Store unless you Get a Real Organic. Have found it was the Closest to a Rubbed Sage from the 1930's (The Dark Green sage has a depth of Flavor you can get if you chop Fresh Sage ultra Fine but usually NOT in Lower Grade Sage)

It remains green in the jar. The sage we buy in stores always appears to be a rather brownish green, and not quite as light and fluffy. Ours is 100% leaves. I wonder if the store bought Sage also contains the stems?

There have been 3 Major NEWS Reports on TV - 60 Minutes, W-5, Market Place ALL REPORTED that the Spice companies are using up to 25% fillers in the Spice and Herbs and they even Grind the Spices and Herbs that Prior to 1980 would have NEVER BEEN USED as PURE SPICES.
The spice Industry it becoming a Billion Dollar Trade war and they have lost there Pride in the Quality was alleged over the filth of the Money Profit.
so if these Articles are True the spices dropped up to 25% in SOME CASES but more then 80% they proved. ALL recipes need to be adjusted or USE higher quality spices or Organic

I can vouch that it doesn't taste sweet. It tastes spicy delicious. Better than KFC hands down. And the chicken itself tastes much fresher also.
