For the latter case I can't see where KFC has any legal grounds, having never patented the recipe. It may be the former. But even for that case there seem to be a broad multiplicity of avenues by which to adequately deliver the proper 'note', and KFC itself is likely proof of that multiple times over. Even if anyone hit their 'purported' vault recipe square on the nose, they could always merely deny that such had been accomplished. Of what benefit would it be to them to admit otherwise? |

I do not think they would admit that anyone has found the Recipe.
I think its a pure Fact finding expedition for Free.
Think about this they give out free coupons and Spif meals NOW. Its a cost of business $250 000.00 for KFC to pay a advertising company for months of work is a spit in the Bucket for KFC. They will stir up so much KFC though it happens ever time someone like The nephew, or Tommy or Cherry settle has a note. KFC numbers shy rocket from FREE news prints its subluminal messaging at its best.
Remember KFC gets to set the mark of what's a Match and then even if they say someone found it They don't have to say which person it was.
its like the mafia they make the rules and that's the end of a story.
For KFC a BIG WIN in they will see what's the real interest in the copycat recipe. They claim 550000 videos out there already.
They will see if anyone has released the real deal recipe.
They have always said that many have tried and NO one has cracked the Code. Last year was the first peep that someone has found the recipe BUT now you cannot find the reporter who wrote the story? ? ?

I've often reflected upon a perhaps rather odd perception (or personal hunch of mine) that, across the rather brief historical internet history of a progression of various KFC recipe seeking forums, as individuals reach the point when they are finally satisfied with their nominal 'recipe cloning' efforts, they tend to drop out of forum participation and disappear from that relatively small and obscure aspect of the internet rather soon afterward. And I've wondered what I might do if I ever fully reach that 'pinnacle' juncture. There is a sort of underlying background fear (or mentality) that by some means a powerful entity which holds no patent can yet somehow manage to wield a lot of legalistic power and bring fear and trepidation into the lives of those who independently achieve that which is likely the goal of everyone who has ever wandered upon these forums.

dryandra there are Families in Canada who have the Recipe and its been a known fact that when CHS Sold out to Brown & Massey CHS retained other rights for pre arranged deals.
CHS and Pete Harmon had a exclusive deal. CHS also wanted Florida for his Family. CHS also retained Canada and few overseas locations.
The Families In Canada have a Loyalty to CHS dead or alive they always had a Kinship which ran thicker then Blood in Family. CHS was Family to many associates in Canada. CHS and Claudia Stayed at Homes of the Families and attended Family weddings funerals and many other functions. The Agreements to and with CHS and Claudia were more then agreements they were life long agreements and the Original Family members who made arrangement with CHS have vowed that the recipes are sacred. Many of the second generation are running family run business which are governed by Franchise agreements.
Remember this even if the 11 Herbs & Spices were cracked KFC would NOT throw a party and celebrate the situation.
The Other Problem is KFC has changed the Recipe so many times its unreal for many countries and situations time and time again and there are getting fewer and fewer who remember the Original Chicken Taste from the 1950's or 1960's
Even when the Original is Cooked people NOT say what's wrong with the chicken its NOT as Crispy as the KFC we ate at a store in the last year. The breading was soft and flavorful that stuck to your fingers lips, and had a smell left in a empty bucket for a week.
Yes the Recipe is out there, its just the ones out there are more guarded by the Old Timers who would Died to protect the integrity they have to CHS.
When some people have made reference of some items to try which may have seemed odd ball. The Gate keepers of some forums have ran the thoughts over.
Yeast has been suggested BUT have NOT seen anyone try the yeast yet ?
Caraway seed instead of Mustard has NOT been explored by many ?

CHS said that the 11 Herbs and Seasoning which is what it was ORIGININALLY labeled NOT !! HERBS AND SPICES. Goes with ALL Meats NOT just Fried Chicken.
1939 CHS had developed the 11 Herbs and Seasoning and in 1955 1956 he added MSG as the final item which made it the best chicken he ever tasted.
From 1965 to 1980 CHS lived in Canada and did Missions across the world. He told his story in Canada to Every Major News Company from the 1954 time period the Second World Wide KFC Franchise was open. CHS had Pete Harmon and 4 other independent Burger locations cooking his chicken when It expanded to Canada.
KFC is ON a FISHING exercise with saying find the copycat. They know a real copy of the Original Recipe has hit the outside the protected domain of there Vault. NOW they need to see where and how many know about it ?
