Yes Caraway seed I grind seed and pods as much as possible. I also have wholesale spice companies, Use the butcher supply companies, Bulk Barn, Amazon Prime ETC. The Chinese market have tons of spices also. I use any and ALL ways to get spices. I find a Bulk Barn have the largest available spices at a easy access and any volume needed quick. I do things different then many people in many instances. I get which ever item I can quick then I test items and if a high quality is required then that's used Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Butcher and Hunting Supply Wholesaler. Bulk Barn and restaurant wholesale Clubs have large selections of spices and the Chinese, Italian, and other ethnic stores have lots spices.

Caraway seed:
ts flavor has a nutty, bittersweet sharpness with a hint of citrus, pepper, and anise (mild licorice).
Substitutes:
Anise seed. Not to be confused with star-shaped tree fruit star anise. Anise seed tastes similar to caraway seeds. The flavor will be a bit stronger or hotter, but you can substitute ground cumin, commonly used in Indian cuisine, for ground caraway seeds. Caraway and cumin both belong to the parsley family and they are similar in taste.
Fennel seeds, which people often confuse with caraway, along with cumin, are another good stand-in.
Coriander seeds also work in recipes in place of caraway.
Since I use Anise Seed and Coriander. I ponder if caraway helps me other than it could sub out 2 ingredients I use?

My Edition #7 recipe will now be tripled for the upcoming Oct. 15th family wide head to head cook-off against KFC_OR. Since I have a (bad) habit (or unnecessary bias) of liking to round my gram quantities such that they end in 0's or 5's, I'm finding that the larger I scale up the recipe the more degrees of freedom I have despite my bad habit/bias. I've taken advantage of this to lower the Tarragon a bit more. Now it stands at only 2/3 of what I considered tasty but over the top dominating in our last attempt (whereas my wife liked the dominating taste and declared it ti be the best, so 2/3 is a compromise effort). Here is what #7 looks like now:

My grams rounding bias is about as bad as any bias leading to Cups, TBSP's, TSP's being rounded via bias to 1, 2/3, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 ... (albeit that the degrees of freedom for such rounded grams is still well higher than for Cups, TBSP's, TSP's.
