If there ever was Dill in KFC_OR, was it Dill Seed or Dill Weed?

For those who like to keep it simple, I propose the "Good Things Come In Three's" derivation of my latest recipe:

Key Point about Vegetable Spices
The 1930's Court case set the standard with how Label and Printing Vegetable Items WAS the Golden Rule and followed by the FDA.
So based on FDA rules you Did NOT seed Vegetable listed on labels but after 1970's / 1980's law changed as we had ALLERGY Label requirements which were NON- existent in the 1930 to 1960

A refined look at my latest recipe based upon some things that deepfriednew101 has taught me today: If everything goes per the current plan, my wife and I will be cooking this recipe tomorrow. Still not sure if I'll be adding the Vital Wheat Gluten, but my wife is convinced that we have some on hand.

If everything goes per the current plan, my wife and I will be cooking this recipe tomorrow. Still not sure if I'll be adding the Vital Wheat Gluten, but my wife is convinced that we have some on hand. That recipe has good bones. It may be your #1 after this 20.24 grams of my 10X mixture have been added to 200 grams of Cake Flour, 24 grams of extremely fine Baker's Salt, and 3-1/3 grams of Light Dry Malt Extract (one TSP). Getting ready to deep fry some Chicken today. The smell of this mix in the flour is giving me very high initial hope. I'll be deep frying in fresh oil, so I hope that the fresh oil doesn't throw me off the 'note' trail. Edit: I did not mess with adding any Potato Starch and/or Vital Wheat Gluten to the Cake Flour. I will leave those for future batches. I didn't want too many variables and unknowns cluttering up the works. Edit #2: Should I toss a pinch of finely crushed (via Mortar & Pestle) Citric Acid into the spiced flour mix? Or into the Egg Wash?

Corn Flour is more flavor then Potato Starch I'm adding the DME for a bit of added "Beer" (malt) flavor plus a couple grams of its complex sugars. Many people make Beer Batters, but few realize that DME is a pure form of vacuum (or freeze) Dried beer (with the only difference being that it has not undergone fermentation yet). The Light variety is used to make things like light Lagers and Pilsner's.

Ok, here's my Cooked Recipe #13 eating report. I'm sad to report that it is merely good fried chicken, which is not much different from cooked recipe #12 as to taste, and actually is not as good tasting as #12. There was little of what I would call the 'note' of KFC_OR. I'll try to summarize what I think needs to be improved, and then offer a recipe which addresses the defects. 1) I've come to the opinion that Clove is simply wrong, and that it needs to be removed. It is cloying, and it is simply not contributing to the 'note'. 2) It needs more of the White Pepper flavor. Inverting the B&W Pepper weights was a mistake that could not be painted over and sold as a feature. 3) It absolutely needs more Salt. 4) It needs more Capsicum family Pepper zing. 5) The DME (dry barley malt extract) flavor is simply wrong tasting. It's almost as if it acted as a Clove booster. 6) I added a healthy pinch of Citric Acid to the egg wash, and it contributed zero. A waste of my time and effort. 7) Yet again, the I+G I purchased did nothing to boost the effect of the MSG. 8) I don't think that the Anise Seed contributed anything of a positive nature. 9) I'm back to speculation that it is Allspice that delivers the note. And possibly also Star-Anise (in moderation). Here is my initial proposed fix to all of the above:
