Why not simply solve both mysteries simultaneously?
20 Lb. MSG 19 Lb. Black Pepper (all Medium Coarse, or alternately a blend of 3 grinds) 13 Lb. White Pepper 12 Lb. Coriander Seed [1] 10 Lb. Pizza Pepper Flakes [2] 8 Lb. Garlic Salt 4 Lb. Ginger [3] 4 Lb. Allspice [4] 4 Lb. Nutmeg (or) Mace [5] 1 Lb. Clove [6] 1 Lb. Savory [7] 1 Lb. Rosemary [8] 1 Lb. Sage [9] 1 Lb. Star Anise [10] 1 Lb. Garlic Powder [11]
Sum = 100 Lbs. Contains the critical numerals 20, 13, and 10 Simply change the word Lbs. to read grams to meet Winston Shelton's contention that it sums to 100 grams.
This or something right close to this seems likely to work.
Multiply everything by 0.125 and call Lbs. grams to scale it down to the standard 200 grams of flour. Then add 200 grams of Pastry Flour and 30 grams of Salt to it.

Didn't he say it was to be 11 ingredients. And CHS only gave him 10?

Didn't he say it was to be 11 ingredients. And CHS only gave him 10? Yes, but then there was the follow up phone call adding the 13 gram item that had been forgotten.

If the story is true, Total ingredients list was 11. Not 14.
I think best you could stretch is MSG was not included. And perhaps additional salt. However, If you take the face value that you just added it to flour. Then salt absolutely would need be one of the "11" in this story. You could try to stretch and still eliminate MSG as part of this "story."
Working the story around his work at the time with MK and Grace's. And that is the recipe he gave, I find more plausible. Not far off Glen's "Canadian source + Grace's" recipe.
A simplified recipe vs the 1952 version is where I stand on fitting this story in.

100% must Be divided into the 11 Spices and Herbs
The Other items Vegetables Celery, Garlic, Onion ARE OUTSIDE measurements from the 11 Spices and Herbs 3% to 5% each also Salt and M.S.G outside the 100% Measurement
33 33% 20 53% 13 66% 10 76% 6 82% 5 87% 5 92% 5 97% 1 98% 1 99% 1 100%
Plus 9 to 15% Celery, Garlic, Above the 11 Spices and Herbs
Salt extra % M.S.G. extra %

I could live with those numbers and make my base recipe fit with little tweaking

Plus 9 to 15% Celery, Garlic, Above the 11 Spices and Herbs Salt extra % M.S.G. extra % Once you add 9% to 15% Celery, Garlic, and MSG to what's already a 100 Lb. drum, wouldn't you now have about a 130 Lb. drum?
This thread is strictly about getting 100 Lbs. into a 100 Lb. fiber drum. Plain and simple. So simple a child could understand it...

Where Did C.H.S. and / or Winston Say anything about a 100Lbs Barrel
Number 2 Do you know how much space is even used in a Old 100Lbs M.S.G Barrel when you fill it with 100lbs. of spice and Herbs
It's like a Many other items filled By weight they over size the container size for a crush crumple safety zone (Packing Method)
We have filled the OLD M.S.G. Barrels WHICH IS WHAT C.H.S. indicated they WERE which He repurposed and we Filled it with 100Lbs of herbs and spices as a Experiment to see How full i would get and experience what Claudia explained the issue was with the Barrels (TRY and get the Bottle 20%-25% percent of the Spices and Herbs out of the Barrel reaching into it from a 3 foot Down reach You had to Tip the Barrel out which IS NO easy task as she explained.
The Barrel with 100lbs of Spices and herbs Does Not exceed a high point than 3/4 of the way up the Barrel
Claudia Mixed smaller portions that were mixed which she could control and fill into the larger M.S.G. Barrel then as required Fill the Bags to be shipped out
some people speculated that the she filled 24 Bags from the 100Lbs Barrel size Holding Vessel

I have OLD M.S.G. Barrel with Col Sanders name other are label Kraftco, Campbell's, and other Major Soup makers which was shipped FROM overseas.
In the later Years before C.H.S. had Durkee's Make the seasoning He use a cement mixer to mix spices in Larger volume. It blended it more even.
That Cement Mixer is so perpetrated with Seasoning the smell will Never get out of it. This still was used even when Durkee's mixed the first Batches.
C.H.S. Did not mix 100lbs in the cement mixer at a time either He maintained a more consistent Product with smaller batches UNLESS he was in a extreme hurry Claudia corrected His explanation of the Mixing

MSG has a reported density of 1.62 g/CC. The last time I density checked one of my seasoning mix recipes I believe (from memory) that it was around 3.2 to 3.4 g/CC. So for my spice mixes you could get 200 Lbs. into a 100 Lb. MSG fiber drum after allowing settling time for de-aeration. But of course it was you deepfriednew101 who has always talked of CHS re-using the fiber drums.
Edit: My bet is that the 100 Lb. recipe will most likely prove to be a good one. And that it will prove to be better than the Eugenol and Oregano monster recipe that you posted.
