My Savory has a mild but clearly noticeable Carvacrol/Oregano odor. Savory is also said to contain Thymol, which is the main ingredient in Thyme.
When Glen wink wink hinted about Savory when he said he understood how it might be in the recipe, although for Grace's it isn't, I think this vagueness was part of his prefacing the last episode with a statement that he thought long and hard as to how to present details which he had learned from conversing with Pat Grace without getting either himself or Pat Grace in a heap of KFC legal trouble.
My bet is that where Grace's uses Thyme and Marjoram (a very weak form of Oregano) CHS used Savory. And I speculate that KFC forbid Grace from using Savory.

Here is my view on KFC forbidding the use of various herbs and spices. They would need to disclose the ones they don’t want folks to use. Which eventually gets out. Specially these days. With the exception of the tarragon vinegar. I don’t think they have or will. Limiting to a specific quantity seems their better play. 5 outside salt and pepper deal

You know one day someone will throw a few bucks to the wind. Bug some poor court clerk to go look up and photocopy a 45 year old court case. Just to call you out. Then I wonder how the story or intent of these posts will change.
On top of this. Both Marion Kay and Karl have recently indicated separately they haven't change their ingredients at all. Now you will say ya but they already were living by the Lee Cummings court case results. Just to save you typing it I'll add it for you.
Not sure how we could say Karl is right or wrong. But the massive increase in salt in 99x would lead one to believe something changed with them. If just the weights of individual ingredients not the removal of any specific ones.

It Has Changed ANYONE who ate Marion Kay Chicken Season or the OLDER 99-x ALL say its changed LMAO
There are Marion Kay Staff who acknowledge the Change This 3rd generation Do Not say what Bill S or the Older staff have said
ANYONE can Go to a Court House Pay for the Transcripts or Pages, I have had others View the Court cases to make sure it says what it says and the Lawyers agree with the things I say so NOT worried about what's in the Document's LMAO
Karl had admitted it is NOT the Original KFC and it has 12 Ingredients BUT they also Do Not say 12 Herbs and Spices so it can be also vegetables included He could be counting salt and M.S.G. also OH don't forget the Black Pepper and White Pepper
