This thread is dedicated to a more reasonable, less speculative and narrative-free approach. Or simply serve as my digital legacy. The process of deducing information from different sources and combining the results is commonly referred to as 'synthesis' or 'information synthesis'. Information synthesis can help us make valuable statements by combining and analysing diverse sources of information to generate comprehensive and nuanced insights. It allows us to identify patterns and connections. Below Venn diagramm shows you which ingredients are very likely part of the OR formula. Sources: KFC Japan, Marion Kay, Glen, Karl Grace, Unknown Canadian Source. The 70s 99X bag also gives away the perfect flour-seasoning-ratio, presuming it would have been extract-free. This would roughly be: 85% Flour 10% Salt 5% SeasoningI personally believe Tarragon to be the last missing ingredient here. This is my conclusion. You may disagree with me. But maybe one day you will return to this thread and agree with me. Salt Pepper MSG Garlic Salt Sage Allspice Red Pepper Tarragon Coriander Seed Ginger Marjoram Savory Thyme

Not sure if you have seen this yet. Allergy listing for KFC England October 2007. The allergens. I really don't want to go down that road again. - Not specified/disclosed by any of the above sources
- Not listed in many (most?) countries
- Not in any of the note delivering recipes
- Tested and found to be non crucial to say the least
Check out the discussion we had on this wrt contamination issues etc. I am not discussing this again here. I hit the note without any of them. This is as much as I will say on this.

If we ... - exclude vegetables as deepfried insists,
- count exactly 6 herbs and 5 spices
- use only the most popular items (rather subjective I guess)
This could be the sacred line up of 11 herbs and spices. And I even think they all fit into the vials.
Marjoram Rosemary Sage Savory Tarragon Thyme
Allspice Coriander Ginger Mustard Red Pepper

For my last cook I used basil in place of rosemary else I used everything else. I used garlic as the only vegetable. I have used rosemary once before as well. I don’t think basil survives the cooking as much. It certainly didn’t make the recipe the bomb. I think this is a more than reasonable solution to solving multiple “stories”. Cook it!

mackerbryanee14 How much mustard powder do you suggest to achieve the effect you are describing? And is there a flavour contribution as well?

i am confident that the 20 grams of winston shelton is mustard. I used gram measure and it’s roughly 2 1/2 tbsps.
that is meant for 4 cups of flour. so I think the measurements from Eula Gibsons is the correct one.
I also don’t think the ginger in there is 2 tsps. It could also be in 2 tbsps or roughly 10 grams. Ginger is also an emulsifier and often mistaken for cardamom when you sniff it.

That would be 4 grams of Mustard Powder added to 200 grams of flour if I'm not terribly mistaken?
