Both agencies F.D.A. -and- C.F.I.A. which are counter parts to Food Inspection and Regulations for Labels and Food Safety in U.S.A. -and- Canada
Have Both indicated in the last week 2023
K.F.C. and / or Other Food Giants who package there own Spice for Internal Franchise Use which and ARE NOT FOR SALE Retail items (Bottle Spices or Sauces Retail Sale)
The Internal USED spices like the 11 Spice and Hern Seasoning Bags, Powdered Milk & Eggs, or other Giant Brands Chili recipe items or Steak spices ETC ETC.
Have NO forced legislation to Print any ingredient on Labels ANY item which the F.D.A. or C.F.I.A. consider SAFE. unless the Company chooses to Print the Item THE franchise Still must Label ALL Salt, M.S.G. Milk Dairy, and or Allergens. In Canada if ANY TRACE of Allergen item is used it MUST 100% be declared and there is NO MORE % below value accepted of below 2 or 3% ALL allergen or items containing allergen MUST be declared.
The General term May Contain items DOES NOT guarantee a Free Pass of absolution for failing to List Items of Allergens.
Both Agencies have stated that Items Like Peppercorn, Garlic, Onion are NOW more likely to be Labeled Do To customer Preference and Companies Label those items as the Majority of items contain the ingredients and they list the items for easy Disclosure to the Public. BUT there is ZERO requirement mandated for them to list it.
END RESULT Packaging which are USED for Internal Franchise USE ONLY MUST contain allergens or ANY other item the Company wants to declare. Other countries beside Canada and the U.S.A. have other laws which must be accounted for if the Company ships cross boarder Salt and M.S.G are still mandatory and Wheat Items or Milk MUST be declared. with the Allergens
