Yes I have knowledge of the Original Chicken Seasoning Marion Kay Original supplied to Canada
Bill S and C.H.S. were in Calgary and delivered cases of the Original chicken Seasoning of Marion Kay when C.H.S. made the Original switch.
We still have Original Bags from the First shipments, and bags also every Plastic tub style Marion kay used from each and every change that was made even until after C.H.S. passing in December of 1980's
Because Montana was also a opted out of the purchases sale to Brown & Massey they were a supporter of Marion Kay Original Chicken Seasoning and were using it faithfully, Canada Alberta Border Coutts Crossing is the link between both and C'.H.S. would make a Trip through Montana cross the Coutts Border and then stop in Lethbridge and Stay in Calgary A.B. when visiting the Western Canada areas.
I have Indicated on the other forum Red Pepper to the Brass on that forum and Got Laughed out of Dodge, and was told I was FULL of Something when suggesting Red Peppers aka Sweet Red Peppers.
Then I was even told that the Penick's Jamaican Allspice was JUST a can on the Museum shelf NO merit.
I stated that They are wrong and Needed to view what Pharmaceutical items were used BY Mid-Wife and Pregnancy's comfort items 1930's which helped Mothers who C.H.S. visited and Helped with the assurance the items were taken orally and internally would not hard mother or baby.
Many of these items EVERY HOUSE HOLD had - Mustard Packs were essential in Rural life in the 30's as a example, They used the SAME spice for Medical and Cooking ?
I have posted many photo's what photo's I can post or other similar like Photo's comparing items that were on the Original Kitchen C.H.S. shelves that were USED to recreate the Museum. Staff spent $10,000.00 finding replica's of the original kitchen or as close to Original as Possible.
C'.H.S. on trips to Canada often brought us Tins of spice which were NON regional to Canada and He obtained Spices From our Regional selection he preferred. C.H.S. had a LIST of mandatory Spices and Herbs needed to make the K.F.C. product which he gave to the new locations
Contains: Pepper, MSG, Salt, Sage, Allspice, Red Pepper and other Natural Herbs and Spices.
Coriander was NOT printed on the Originals.
ONE THING forgetting by many why Did Coriander suddenly become a shown listed ingredient
HERE is YOUR answer the Time period between the Original Chicken Seasoning and 99-X changed formula and the change in Formula NOW MUST be shown on the NEW PACKAGING LAW-LAW-LAW which was NOT mandatory when the original Chicken seasoning was developed BUT was mandatory after 1980’s and earlier in other Countries.
It’s the Same when you see ingredient changes on the Original K.F.C Bags or the Ingredient list.
Salt, Pepper, M.S.G. ARE NOT part of the 11 Spices and Herbs and then must be MANDATORIALLY listed on the Label’s THAT WHY THEY ARE ALWAYS PRINTED.
Don’t take my word for any of the above the 500 Hours of time I spent in the Last 40 years plus. Write letters to the countries for Label clarification.
OH, Label Laws have changed in Canada and the USA in the Last Year. No real changes that will make K.F.C. or any Major company disclose items. It effects the Import side more and the Tax $ amounts again but the Labels law are changing more then the 1905-1980 original Long lasting Law

Did the percentage limit of ingredients change as far as labeling laws?
For example did the law ever change where by it went from 3% down to 2%. Or 2% to 1%?

This statement is incorrect. You must declare Salt. It does not fall under the “spice” blanket term. You must declare MSG. Only if MSG is produced as a result of protein hydrolysis or a byproduct of protein processing, the FDA does not require MSG to appear on the label. You must also declare garlic and onion powder. For blends of spices, most ingredients must be listed by name. However, blended spices that contain both “spice” and “non-spice” components can list the spice portion of the blend as “spice,” but the “non-spice” components (e.g., salt, garlic powder, etc.) must be identified by name. Claiming these items must be identified because they are not part of the secret 11 is bollocks.
With regards to Pepper, it would fall under spices and does not need to be listed. HOWEVER, and this is just a guess, I can imagine that if Pepper constitutes the biggest portion in a mix by far (easily over 50% in my formulae), I would find it very strange if it wouldn't need any identification at all.
The "sudden" appearance of Coriander does not have to mean that it was not part of the formulation before. Some have argued that MK had to remove Allspice from its formulation. In most of my recipes e.g. I use the same amount of Allspice and Coriander. When I omit Allspice, Coriander is the next item in line by weight in alphabetical order. This is how Coriander could have "surfaced". There is no FDA rule on Coriander I know of, so claiming Coriander all of a sudden had to be identified because it had been introduced is false.

The above is much in line with what I think as well. Also the Red Pepper or that much of it could have disappeared for a few reasons including oil fouling. Puts this version and Glen's in the same ballpark

11Serbs You have limited or mislead information about FDA and other regulatory Agency's in other countries and or what process is followed when a Packager changes a Recipe. It can be overwhelming for many Due to the Different Agencies possibly involved and who as the Final Say in Label Production.
Many have made similar comments with limited information at hand ? YOUR comment that "There is no FDA rule on Coriander I know of, so claiming Coriander all of a sudden had to be identified because it had been introduced" indicated that you have been misguided in error or absence of information. If you contact the FDA and or Agencies related to the Labeling of Interstate Commerce and trade items you would understand Packaging change rules and guidelines which are NOT limited to international trade unless the Corporation has taken that into consideration of the Label requirement for ALL other countries.
The rule on Coriander is NOT just a Rule FOR coriander its a rule, legislation regarding formula changes that have once been approved and licensed to sell distribute wholesale retail or otherwise.
YOU HAVE NO CLUE as to a licensed Package product which must be approved by regulatory bodies. YOU CANNOT make a change without Approval since the 80's
Packaging Facilities have Guidelines and inspections on continual bases. Based on distributor area State Provincial Federal and International. YOU DO NOT PULL THE WOOL OVER THERE EYES AND STAY IN BUISNESS.
READ K.F.C. STATEMENT ON THE TOP OF ALL ingredient list
This guide reflects the ingredient information for the products presented and available in Canada on the date as listed in the bottom right corner of the page. Variations may occur to differences in suppliers, ingredient substitutions, recipe revisions, recipe revisions and/or product preparation at the restaurant. Some menu items may not be available at all restaurants. Some of the menu products listed below are limited time offers or test market items.
if anyone doubt that changes DO NOT MATTER then Do some investigation ON WHAT THIS MEANS? K.F.C would NOT place this Legal NOTE FIRST on the web sites AROUNF THE WORLD

I am 'limited, mislead, misguided and have no clue.' Why would you encourage an imbecile like me to 'do some investigation' when I obviously do not have the mental capacities or correct sources?
So you're literally describing how strict FDA has become, and yet want us to believe that KFC is only required to declare items they themselves do not consider secret? So they are not revealing Salt and MSG on the bags because they have to, but rather out of the goodness of their hearts? Are you that delusional?

Arguing with you about FDA law brings me into conflict with Brandolini's law.

when you Do the research in what corporations who export internationally MUST comply with and or interstate commerce Packaging trade between countries or States Provinces Please educate the Masses. If your owed a apology for incorrect information printed you will get one, BUT not expecting that to happen.
KFC like Donald Trump and Taxes Pay the Bare minimal amount in Taxes BUT follow the codes and regulations to there advantage until they are otherwise demanded to disclose more information which changes there Tax audit.
K.F.C disclose what they Need to Disclose and NOT a shred more until they have been forced to like the M.S.G. amounts they used and allegations where they were NOT disclosing Proper amounts and Over limits of M.S.G. They proved they were under and even showed How many other companies were over.
I guess when your a 20 Billion Dollar Corporation you Don't take a back seat to many situations.
K.F.C. discloses what the FDA and others require them to NOT a . or ! mark more.

What is your bloody point? In your first statement, Salt, Pepper and MSG must be listed because they are not part of the 11. I challenged that statement and you still haven't addressed my claim that Salt and MSG must be declared in any case, part of 11 or not. So if these items must be identified, your statement AND your deduction are factually false. Then you start a rant and attack me only to finally admit the FDA does require KFC to disclose items? So once again: If you are required by law to disclose certain items, you simply cannot deduct from that that these items are not part of the 11. And I am not even making the point that Salt and MSG are part of the 11.

I guess explaining it to YOU is necessary as the other who Private messaged me ALL Get the Point.
So I will Be Clear
Salt Pepper M.S.G
Were disclosed to More then One Country as NOT part of the 11 Spices and Herbs.
The Countries had K.F.C. and other Major corporations who claim intellectual property rights or secret recipe, exemptions to the Rule for listing Ingredients, and then ONLY are required to list Items which contain Allergens and or Color Purpose. BUT they are listed AFTER the other items which Must be disclosed Because they are NOT part of the Intellectual Property or trade secret exemption, Like Salt, M.S.G. or items NOT under Intellectual property exemption.
( YOU HAVE NO CLUE THAT companies who declare Intellectual property or Secret Recipe MUST MUST MAKE application FOR EXEMPTION STATUS to the Country of origin packaging) YOU CANNOT just say it's intellectual property or Secret and NOT list it YOU MUST HAVE PRE APPROVAL FOR THE EXEMPTION.
Salt and M.S.G IN SOME countries MUST be list on ALL Labels even if its part of a Secret Recipe But that becomes Health requirement Laws which take presidents on Label disclosure. K.F.C. has Had 4 investigations to prove the amount of M.S.G in the Bags and Sodium Amounts in the Bags.
When issues regarding M.S.G. were in the Worlds EYE's K.F.C openly admitted that M.S.G was part of the chicken cooking ingredients BUT were clear it was NOT part of the Original KFC chicken seasoning BUT IT WAS USED also. K.F.C. they in the interviews quickly showed 5 other Major Item ALL using the M.S.G and NOT disclosing there recipe items - Potato Chips, Dorito's, Campbell's Soup, Kellogg's Foods and others.
I wish everyone a Great Holiday Season in which ever way you celebrate it.
